Jerry and Colette Dywasuk celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, Friday, May 7, 2010.
The couple was married in 1960 at Holy Name of Jesus Church in Detroit, with Father Albert George officiating.
Jerry and Colette have lived in Lake Orion for 34 years. Colette served as Orion Township Supervisor from 1996 to 2000. Jerry served as Orion Township Supervisor from 2000 to 2008.
Friends and famliy were in attendance as Father Michael Verschaeve, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Orion, celebrated a special Mass at St. Bonaventure Chapel (Franciscan Monastery) in Detroit to commorate the Dywasuks? milestone anniversary. The chapel is on the site where Jerry and Colette met in a Catholic youth group in 1958.
