Help for homeowners

When Renea L. Huth of Clarkston says Project Helpers home improvement services work, she speaks from experience.
‘I had a really bad experience with my own home improvement contracts last summer ? it was a nightmare,? Huth said.
Looking for solutions, she learned about Project Helpers, a subsidiary of C&L Ward Brothers home improvement company.
‘I thought it was something that could really help,? she said.
She looked into it further, and joined the company this past January as corporate trainer, in charge of expanding its Neighborhood Marketing team throughout Oakland County.
‘It’s a great opportunity,? said Huth, who has a Masters degree in Organizational Management. ‘I’m proud to be a part of it. It’s a wonderful way to give back to the community.?
She has 40 openings for community-marketing employees. Requirements include good communication skills, reliable transportation, enjoys working outdoors, ability to work as part of a team with daily goals and objectives, and at least 18 years old. Employees receive paid training and healthcare benefits.
‘It’s a really neat concept,? Huth said. ‘Community marketing team members go door to door. We don’t sell anything. We consult with homeowners to help them improve their home.?
Their job is to link homeowners looking for professional improvement work with the right service providers.
Project Helpers screens each provider, checking for licenses, insurance, and history of high-quality work.
‘We stand behind service providers and customers so both can be confident their project will be successful,? Huth said. ‘It’s a win-win.?
Membership in Project Helpers is free and includes a discount card and free online estimates. Qualified service providers are available for a wide variety of home improvement work, including basement waterproofing, carpeting, roofing, paving, drywall repair, additions and remodeling, air conditioning and furnaces, plumbing, electrical, and lawn and garden.
