Oakland County Sportsmen’s Club was jam-packed, Dec. 5, as music fans brought toys and gift donations for the club’s annual Toys for Tots Rock N’ Roll Toy Drive.
The crowd enjoyed tasty burgers, Coney dogs, and drinks as they listened to the sounds of Phil Treais Group, Targus, Skee Brothers, Charlie Allen Martin with 2XL, Urban Nomads Mule Drive, Donde, Detroit Groove Kings, and Taddy Porter. John O’Leary of WCSX 94.7 was MC.
OCSC Office Manager Salli Petherbridgesaid they raised $1,290 in cash donations and lots of toys as well.
“We had more toys than we had last year and higher quality toys than ever before. There were really a lot of toys,” she said. “They brought a big Hertz rental truck here and completely filled the back part of it. It was a really successful event and everybody seemed like they had a really good time.”
Rock for tots
Many children will enjoy new toys this year as the annual Toys for Tots proved to be a success once again at the Oakland County Sportsmen’s Club on Waterford Road on Dec. 7.
This year’s bands include Phil Treais Group, Mike Sneed, Urban Nomads, Skee Brothers, Wage Slave, Donde, Targus, Mule Train, and Terri Lee and the Mustangs. Emcees for the evening were John O’Leary of 94.7 WCSX and Carl Coffey of 103.1 WQUS.
