Independence Township is still in need of a clerk.
Voting to replace retired Clerk Shelagh Vanderveen, the township board voted, Feb. 15, on candidates Joan McCrary, Joan Patterson, and Barbra Pallotta.
Supervisor David Wagner, Treasurer Curt Carson, and Trustee Mark Petterson voted for McCrary. Patterson received the votes of trustees David Lohmeier and Larry Rosso, and Trustee Neil Wallace’s vote went to Pallotta.
Four votes were required.
A new vote could occur tomorrow at a special meeting, 7:30 p.m., Feb. 16, or it could go to a special election this fall.
