Hamburger Festival this week!

‘Get your buns downtown? because the long-awaited Oxford Hamburger Festival is happening this week!
Organized by the DDA, the bulk of the festival will take place in downtown’s southeast quadrant from Thursday, May 12 through Sunday, May 15.
The festival will feature carnival rides all four days; sidewalk vendors; a beer tent with live music and dancing (4-11 p.m. May 13-14); local burger vendors (i.e. Street Burger Bistros from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. May 14); a Best Burger Contest featuring Oxford restaurants ( 1 p.m. May 14 in Centennial Park); and kids games in Centennial Park (11 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 14).

To assist with parking, the festival will offer a one-day-only shuttle service from the Oxford Marketplace lot, the 98 S. Glaspie St. lot and the southeast corner of the Meijer parking lot.
Early Bird Pre-sale vouchers for the carnival are on sale at the DDA and village offices (22 W. Burdick St.) for $16 each. This represents a $4 savings.
Running in conjunction with the Hamburger Festival will be a community-wide garage sale at about 30 homes throughout the village. Sales will run May 12-14 from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. each day. Maps will be available at the festival.
Oxford Community Schools is hosting an open house to showcase its educational and athletic facilities on Saturday, May 14 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
