The Lady Wolves formed a circle and raised their lacrosse sticks up in the air on Saturday night.
They won the scrimmage game against Waterford United. It helped prepare them for the upcoming final week of the regular season and to play for the all-day Game for a Cure event.
“It was fun,” said Stephanie Dellinger, head coach for the Clarkston Girls Varsity Lacrosse team. “The seniors played a lot for senior night. We came out a little slow. They put it together the second half. Game for a Cure is always a -fun event to get all the teams together to play.”
The girls beat Rochester Adams the night before, 17-7.
Lauren Sharkey, Danielle Dunn and Stephanie Dellinger scored four points each and Caroline Champion scored three goals. Sage Beauregard and Quinn Dabrowski scored one point each while goalie Kylie Cohu made 17 saves.
“She is doing phenomenal in the goal,” said Dellinger. “She comes out with 17 saves a game. She is doing awesome for us. Our defense is huge. Paige Miller, Whitney Kelley, Rachel Manssur and Ashley Piper are phenomenal on defense. They know when to attack, double team the ball and create a lot of charges.”
The girls played Lake Orion on Monday and won, 19-4.
They head to Troy on Wednesday for the last game of the season.
They will play the Lady Dragons again next Thursday for the first round of regionals.
“It is always a big rivalry,” said Dellinger, adding the girls need to keep their focus on continuing the season.
