Girl Scout leaders honored

Clarkston-area Girl Scout leaders Nancy Ritchey and Michelle Bennett were recognized nationally for their outstanding work.
Ritchey serves on on the Service Team in Clarkston as registrar, My Way Girls coordinator, and treasurer. ‘She mentors other new leaders as they get started with their troops, whenever she is needed. ‘In addition to her work with the troops, she has volunteered as a unit leader and recruited others to participate in the Pleasant Ridge Day Camp that is hosted by the Clarkston Service Unit every year. ‘She’s been a very active member of Girl Scouts for about eight years.
Both of Nancy’s daughters, Jillian and Jenna, are active in Girl Scouts and have enjoyed learning and growing through their mom’s leadership within their troops. ‘Nancy was awarded with the Girl Scout Appreciation pin for all her efforts.
Bennett is an active leader in the Clarkston Service Unit, and served as cookie booth manager, ‘organized Cosmic Bowling day and Pleasant Ridge Day Camp.
She has volunteered for many years as a Unit Leader. Last year she stepped into the lead role without hesitation and planned a fun-filled learning adventure.
Her daughter, Jessica, is an active Girl Scout and enjoys sharing Girl Scouts with her mom. Michelle was awarded the Girl Scout Honor pin.
