Cancer survivors, distinguished guests and physicians are invited to attend a National Cancer Survivor’s Day Celebration, 12-3 p.m., June 5, at the Great Lakes Cancer Institution, 5680 Bow Pointe Drive.
This event is sponsored by the Swan for Life Cancer Foundation and is free to all cancer survivors, families, caregivers and friends.
The event will include a presentation from keynote speaker, Syma Chowdhry, morning news anchor for First Forecast Mornings, CBS Detroit, which airs weekday mornings between 5-7 a.m.
The celebration will offer musical entertainment by ‘The Locals,? and food and family activities, and barbeque provided by the Union Woodshop.
National Cancer Survivor’s Day takes place worldwide on June 5, with hundreds of communities hosting events to celebrate life and demonstrate that life after a cancer diagnosis can be meaningful and productive.
The contributions of families, friends, researchers, and healthcare providers who support cancer survivors will also be recognized.
