The Ortonville Chamber of Commerce has been working hard to raise money for the community’s upcoming fireworks show (Saturday, July 2). Each year the public receives a great display of American spirit through this event and we appreciate all the donations that have been collected so far. Thank you to the Lions Club for their $500 donation and to all those that have contributed! However, the fireworks show is in jeopardy and we are asking for the public to come forward to support our efforts with more donations. We have only collected $3,359 for this year’s show and we are a few thousand dollars short! Our contract deadline is fast approaching. Our volunteers were out this past weekend at Bueche’s collecting donations and we are going to be there this weekend. The chamber needs to collect $7,000, otherwise we will have to downgrade the show. The Chamber has donated more than $2,000 from a recent fundraiser, but we are still short! The public has always enjoyed this community event. The Chamber has always enjoying hosting this event. Many residents can view this show from their own backyards while others join in the fun at the school off of M-15 or the parking lots of our local businesses that line M-15. Wherever you are in watching this show, we need you and your support.
