Local Tea Party moves online

Carl Knaus, founder of the Saving America Tea Party in Clarkston, is back and ready to finish the job he and other activists started last November.
‘We had 11 tea parties last year that were very effective,? Knaus said. ‘But now we’ve found a new way that can reach a lot more people.?
Knaus has started a ‘Freedom Shop? online, offering Saving America pamphlets, CDs with the Saving America theme song ‘Freedom,? which was written by Knaus, and other items.
‘The song tells the entire story of the freedom movement about life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness,? he said. ‘The song is performed by Motown singer John O’Dell.?
The newest item for sale is a ‘Bye-Bye Obama? bumper sticker. While running commercial ads on the radio, Knaus said they are also selling $50 sponsorships for newspaper ads in the form of a certificate.
‘Whoever sponsors an ad will get to decide which newspaper it will run in,? he said. ‘Anybody can donate for a lot of things, but the certificate is a keepsake to know they were a part of something.?
Knaus does plan on hosting one more tea party this year because it gets people ‘fired up.? He said he feels the Obama administration took things that were bad and made them dramatically worse, which is why he is continuing to fight for the free market system and against what he believes is heading towards socialism.
‘We think with our efforts we can get the job done,? Knaus said. ‘In 2012 we will have our country back.?
