Beginning this week, the level of Lake Orion will slowly be lowered about one foot to reach the normal low water mark for winter. This will not flood Paint Creek and the lowering will be completed by the third Friday in November. This should allow for the safe removal of all watercraft from Lake Orion. This should not be confused with the ‘drawdown? that takes place every five years for dock and seawall repairs, next scheduled for the fall of 2012.
