Icers took care of an OAA Red league foe last week, beating Oxford at their home turf, 10-4.
Senior Gabe Comos opened the game with the Clarkston Boys Varsity Hockey team’s first goal. He scored 27 seconds into the game. Teammate senior Adam Bruderick added one more point to the scoreboard four minutes later.
Before the first period closed, the Wildcats added two to the board from Dean Couwlier and Nick Hocket to tie the game.
Not slowing down, juniors Zach Gootee and Adam Larkin added two goals during the next period to bring the boys into the lead.
Senior Josh Stowers opened the third period with the fifth goal, scored 41 seconds into the period. Junior Nate Lowell was the next to add more edge to the game scoring two goals, putting the score, 7-2.
Senior Jordan Henney, sophomore Jacob LaPorte, and Bruderick finished the night with the last three goals for the game.
The win boosted the boys to 5-0-1 league record. A loss to Utica Eisenhower on Saturday night, 4-3, put their overall record to 8-6-1.
The boys look to add two more wins this week as they take on Howell on Thursday, 7:45 p.m., and take on crosstown rivals Lake Orion on Saturday, 8 p.m.
Both games are at Detroit Skate Club, 888 Denison Court in Bloomfield Hills.
