Brandon Twp.- There’s a new veterinarian in town, in a well-established facility.
Dr. Nancy Flanigan purchased the Ortonville Animal Clinic practice last month and has renamed it the Ortonville Animal Hospital.
The hospital located at 959 S. Ortonville Road retains all the same support staff, including licensed Vet Technician Shannon Lohr, Office Manager Jane Cooper, Receptionist June Welsh, and Assistant Jane Scott. They and Flanigan will continue to serve all current clients and Ortonville Animal Hospital is also accepting new patients.
‘Come in and say hello and let us take care of your pets,? said Flanigan. ‘We’re a very dedicated staff here and we’re all about care of the total pet. Because of my background, I’m extremely well-trained. I’ve seen a lot.?
Flanigan graduated from Michigan State University in 1998 with a doctorate degree in veterinary medicine. She started out in a day practice, then spent eight years doing veterinary emergency and critical care work for various animal hospitals in Oakland County. She is excited to return to day practice in Ortonville.
‘I like this area very much,? Flanigan said. ‘I would much rather practice in a small town. I love that it’s relaxed here.?
Dogs and cats are the primary patients at Ortonville Animal Hospital, but Flanigan also treats assorted ‘pocket pets,? including rabbits and guinea pigs. She offers wellness care, all routine surgeries as well as many emergency or advanced surgeries. A board-certified surgeon comes to Ortonville Animal Hospital to perform orthopedic surgeries.
