‘We do some exotic underwriting, also,? Eavenson said, including coverage for antique vehicles, bonds and liquor.
The key is Eavenson’s years of experience and his extensive contacts in the industry. As an independent insurance agency, Brandon Underwriters makes use of a variety of insurance carriers to help get the customer the best possible coverage for the best possible price.
Some of the major carriers include Hastings, Accident Fund, Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Mutual, Ohio Casualty, Harleysville and Progressive.
While the staff’s experience is important, they don’t want to rest on their laurels, so upgraded technology has been a priority.
‘We’re very highly automated now,? said Amy Switzenberg, agent and office manager. The office was the first in Ortonville to get high-speed Internet access. That helps speed service.
Eavenson’s reputation has spread so far that he does business in several other states as well as in Michigan. He has a special place in his heart for the hometown, however.
‘Ortonville is just a great community,? he said. Although he started his career in the Detroit area, he’s glad to avoid the daily freeway commute. ‘Ortonville is a great place to work.
