Common Ground celebrated several graduating members of their Teen Advisory Board on May 22 at Andover High School.
The teen board is comprised of representatives from most Oakland County high schools including Lake Orion, where Breanne Dixon was honored at the event. Teens represent their school district and community and brainstorm with representatives from different communities to develop ways to spread awareness about the many teen programs. Through their 24 hour crisis line, their online chat line for teens, their many prevention and training programs and other tools to help teens deal with the issues they are going through!
The Teen Advisory Board is moving forward into the 2012-13 school year with several exciting developments.
There are two seats from each school district available for next year’s board. High school students can contact jperlaki@commongroundhelps.org to obtain more information about serving on this board.
