The Orion Township Parks and Recreation Department will join the Lake Orion School’s Dragon GAP (Guided Activities Program) in a joint effort at Friendship Park this summer.
A summer teen band concert series will be held at the park at the corner of Clarkston and Baldwin Roads. Concerts will be June 13, 7-9 p.m.; July 17, 7-9 p.m.; Aug. 14, 7-9 p.m. Rain dates are June 20 and July 18, at the same times, with no rain date for the Aug. show. There is no additional costs to the township to provide the concerts.
The Oakland County Sheriff’s Department School Liaison Officer, along with GAP Coordinator Ben Gerdeman and parks and recreation programmer Phil Castonia, will be present at the concerts. OCSD will also provide extra patrols on those evenings.
