Brief – Stolen political signs

It seems the political season is well underway even at the local level and with that comes sign stealing.
Kyle Dykman posted on the Lake Orion Review’s Facebook page on July 3 ‘Chris Barnett for Orion Supervisor Supervisor? sign was stolen a few days ago, and on July 2 someone stole her and her next door neighbor’s sign.
‘It saddens me that people are resorting to such immature tactics,? Dykman added.
For those who don’t know the ‘Political Signage FAQs? from the Orion Township Building Department states: No permit is required, signs must be on private property (behind safety path or 10 feet off roadway), signs on residential property may be up to six square-feet and signs on commercial property may be up to 16 square-feet.
The FAQS also comes with a notice which says ‘Signs in violation will be removed. However, we would prefer to talk to you before removing violating signage so that you have a chance to correct them first.?
‘This is petty politics at it’s worst or best, depending on how you look at it,? said Dykman. ‘It is especially sad when it is not even Democrat against Republican, but Republican against Republican.?
