The Orion Art Center, along with other community groups proposed to have their event in town. The event will take place Aug. 25 and 26 and will celebrate art, history of Lake Orion and the uniqueness of the community and lake.
As part of the request, the Orion Art Center sought permission to erect two event signs advertising the Dragon on the Lake event. One banner sign would be hung on Diamond Dave’s at 416 S. Broadway and measure 24 square feet. The other would fly over Flint Street to Anderson and measure 80 square feet.
The action before the council was to approve or disapprove the Orion Art Center’s applications to put up the two community event signs. The council, which was missing councilmembers Mike Toth and Shauna Brown, approved the applications as part of the consent agenda.
