The OHS Varsity Volleyball team returned victorious from the Gabriel Richard Invitational last week. Held in Ann Arbor , the Wildcats were undefeated in five matches that day, and received the first place trophy for their hard work.
Wildcat standouts Meagan Neff and Darien Bandel were named to the All-Tournament team. Of the day’s performance, varsity coach Kristi McDevitt said ‘It is definitely a great tone to start the season.? She praised the offensive work of seniors Alyssa Wysocki, Meagan Neff, and Maddy Line, who combined for 67 kills. Junior Darien Bandel had 48 kills of her own. Defensively, McDevitt singled out junior Aviana Paese and her 75 digs, a team high for the day.
Overall, McDevitt considered the outing a very positive experience for her squad. ‘It was a day the girls played well together,? she said, with ‘major contributions from everyone that stepped on the court.?
The Wildcat’s overall record advances to 6-3.
