On Monday, June 23 the village council awarded a bid to repave Mill Street, to Florence Cement company, formerly known as Detroit Concrete Products.
Mill Street will be milled and resurfaced from Church Street to M- 15.
Rowe Engineering, the village hired engineering firm, recommended the bid award to Florence Cement, who offered the lowest bid at $69,871, out of four presented.
Project Manager, Amy Gilson, of Rowe Engineering told the council that the company has worked with Rowe Engineering past and has produced satisfactorily. Gilson could not give a project start date as of yet but told the council that she would discuss the project start with Florence Cement and give business owners advance notice before the project starts.
