On June 23, Fred Waybrant, Director of Brandon Recreation won approval to begin ordering the second phase of equipment for the Village Skate Park
Although the Park officially opened Phase I of the three phase facility in June, Waybrant has already raised enough funds to begin purchasing equipment for the next phase.
?’We hope to have it installed by August 7,? said Waybrant.
Volunteers assembled the first phase of the park which took more than 14 hours to complete. Waybrant said he has raised enough funds to hire someone to assemble the next phase.
In celebration of the opening the skate park Waybrant has scheduled a second annual skate festival, for Aug. 9, at the village park.
