Retro fun at Strolling Cocktail Party

A Strolling Retro Cocktail Party will once again grace the streets of downtown Clarkston all for a good cause.
‘People start asking about it months in advance,? said Peg Roth of Clarkston Retailers Group.
The third annual event always takes place on the third Saturday in January is this Saturday, Jan. 18, from 5-8 p.m.
Downtown businesses will serve hors d’oeuvres and cocktails. Snacks, drinks and deals are just part of the fun as volunteers from Disaster Relief at Work (DRAW), found by Greg Martin, gather at local businesses to collect donations to help communities effected by disasters.
DRAW helps those affected by disaster by filling five gallon buckets with emergency supplies.
During the event, visitors can wear their retro vintage clothing as they stroll the streets and visit 10 downtown retailers.
Roth added Martin will bring buckets for each business and DRAW volunteers will man the buckets to collect donations.
DRAW volunteers will also have on T-shirts and provide information.
‘We host three annual events and this is the biggest so far,? said Roth. ‘Clarkston Retailers are always doing events to benefit local groups every year and each year we pick a new one.?
