Ortonville- Julie Knight is the new village clerk.
The village council approved 6-0 the appointment of Knight, who will be a part-time employee replacing Heidi Barckholtz.
Knight, 24, graduated from Oakland University in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in writing and rhetoric, and a minor in graphic design. For the past 18 months, she has worked for the City of Auburn Hills as a part-time coordinator of website and graphic design and has also worked as the marketing coordinator for the Auburn Hills Chamber of Commerce.
The Clarkston resident applied for the village clerk position from a desire to expand her horizons and knowledge base.
‘I enjoy seeing things done at the local level,? said Knight.
