Dan McGurk of Toledo smiles with absolute joy as his idol, Kid Rock, shares in his birthday party, Oct. 27, in Clarkston. McGurk, who has Down’s syndrome, posted a video on YouTube last August inviting the Clarkston rocker to his 30th birthday celebration at the Union Woodshop. Kid Rock, born Robert Ritchie, surprised his most devoted fan by showing up in person bearing gifts, including a custom guitar which he signed on the spot.
