Mavericks are CYO champs!

Congratulations to the Mavericks, St. Joseph School/church 5th and 6th grade football team located in Lake Orion, on winning the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) Division D Championship.
They completed an undefeated divisional season with a 6-0 victory over cross-county rival Marist Academy. The Mavericks defended their 2013 Divisional Crown with a high speed offense and a staunch defense that did not allow a single point to be scored against them in their first five games.
This group of 28 young men, representing Oxford, Lake Orion and the surrounding area, are the first ever back-to-back football divisional championships in St. Joseph history.
‘We ended the season with a 7-1 record losing only to an undefeated Holy Family team that is two divisions higher in the CYO league,? Coach John Powers said. ‘Great job Mavericks.?
