A couple of weeks ago I had the misfortune of having to go the hospital in the middle of the night, but I was fortunate that the Addison Township Fire Dept. answered the 9-1-1 call.
I was very ill so my wife made the call. She was treated very courteously and professionally. The EMT’s were at our house in under 10 minutes. Even though it was 2:30 in the morning and very cold , the EMT’s and paramedics were wide awake and professionally dressed.
They were in the house and immediately started taking my vitals. I was escorted to the ambulance where it was toasty warm. The paramedic got an IV started.
I was strapped down and we were on the way to the hospital. The ride was smooth (new ambulance). There was a technician at my side all the way to the hospital, checking my vitals. It was a smooth transition from ambulance to hospital.
I just want to say a big, big thanks to the Addison Township Fire Department.
I feel extremely lucky and blessed to be living in Addison Township.
