We apologize

The staff of The Lake Orion Review would like to apologize for a photo on Page 20 of the January 7 edition that depicted inappropriate symbols and profanity on a picture of graffiti on a bridge at Goldengate Road and Pleasant Ridge Road.
An editing error led to the photo being published. The graffiti is on the bridge near the Paint Creek Trail
The photo and accompanying story on Page 20 of January 7 issue, involved a request by the sheriff’s department to find those responsible for spray painting both sides of the bridge with profanity and drug references. It was the second incident involving graffiti in recent weeks and police are looking for those responsible.
Deputies are expected to conduct extra patrols in the area but they also are asking the public’s help in trying to curb the malicious destruction of public property.
A reward is being offered for information leading to the identity of those responsible. Contact the Orion Township Sheriff’s Office Substation at 248-393-0090 or the dispatch center at 248-858-4911.
This incident underscores the concern that residents have about defacing public property. In many communities such graffiti is considered almost normal and is overlooked.
In communities like Lake Orion and Orion Township the defacing of property is viewed as a serious issue.
We consider the defacing of public property to be a serious issue.
But, we promise not to depict it in such a visible and direct manner in the future.
