At a recent meeting of VFW Post 334 in Oxford, Dr. Sam Caruso, of Caruso Chiropractic Clinic in Lake Orion, presented the post with a check for $1,000.
The Post’s Quartermaster James Braden had been receiving chiropractic treatments for several years from Caruso and often wore a VFW jacket or shirt to his office. The VFW emblem on Braden’s clothing prompted Caruso to enquire about the purpose and activities of the organization. Braden explained that the VFW helps needy veterans and their families, supports the National Home for Children and worthwhile local projects.
With this knowledge, Caruso came up with his own, unique way to help VFW Post 334. Caruso Chiropractic Clinic sends out post cards offering free adjustments on patient’s birthdays. Starting in May 2014, these birthday cards included a pledge that any $5 donation would go into a special fund to help North Oakland VFW Post 334. These $5 donations plus an additional donation from Caruso provided the $1,000 the post received.
Caruso is committed to continuing this program and the post is most grateful for his support.
