Rochester College’s bowling team is continuing to grow with Wildcats Brady Wynkoop and Zene Wynkoop each signed the dotted late last month to join the Warriors.
According to Oxford Varsity Girls? and Boys? Bowling Head Coach J.R. Lafnear, Brady had to work harder than some of his fellow Wildcats in high school.
‘He really showed toughness and a strong will to succeed. He is as talented a bowler as we have ever had. He will excel at the next level,? Lafnear said. ‘I will miss having Brady around and can’t wait to watch him in college bowling. ?
Brady led the Wildcats to OAA Conference championships in both 2014 and 2015. Brady contributed to the Wildcats? 2014 Michigan State Tournament championship winning doubles and singles. He was named a second team all-OAA performer as a junior and senior and his top game was a 299.
Zene is transferring from Saginaw Valley State University to join younger brother Brady.
Before SVSU, Zene bowled for Oxford High School, where he earned a letter in bowling. In 2009, he helped lead the Wildcats to a regional championship. He also contributed to the team’s efforts in winning the Flint Metro League championships and qualifying for state in both 2009 and 2010. Zene and the Wildcats fell short of a repeat regional championship in 2010, earning runner-up. He bowled a total of three perfect games in his high school career.
‘Zene also known as Brandon has become a very fine young man and a superb bowler. He has had three 300 games in the past two years. He takes the game more seriously now than he did in high school,? Lafnear added. ‘He has done a great job giving back to the program by working with his Dad in the middle school program.?
Both Brady and Zene join fellow Wildcats Drew Pappas, Alyssa Hurlburt and Jake DeLong at RC who signed earlier in the year.
