Aqua Swim Club of Oxford ? home to world-class athletes – will host another ProSwimClinic with special guest and Olympic hopefuls, Giles Smith and Kevin Cordes.
The duo is teaming up with Aqua Club’s very own two-time Olympic Swimmer, Nimrod Shapira. Together, these athletes seek to share their passion for swimming with area children, during a day focused on basic stroke training, technique, team encouragement, and a whole lot of fun.
Shapira, representing Israel at both the 2012 and 2008 Olympic Games, is also the founder of AquaClub, and spends much of his time coaching AquaClub’s competitive team.
Smith, a member of the U.S. National Swim Team, recently graced the world stage at the Pan-American Games in Toronto, Canada – winning gold in the 100m butterfly and a silver medal in the 400m medley relay.
Cordes, is the current American record holder in the 100- and 200-meter breaststroke, as well as the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke. Cordes recently represented the United States at the 2015 FINA World Championships, earning a silver medal in the 200 meter breaststroke.
Smith and Cordes will be guest instructors at the ProSwimClinic in Oxford on Saturday, August 29, 2015.
The event is open to children of all ages and swim levels, for a participant fee of $99. Check-in will begin promptly at 7:30 AM, at the Oxford High School Natatorium, in Oxford, Michigan.
The event will include a two-hour swim clinic with special guest Giles Smith, Kevin Cordes and Aqua Club’s very own Olympian ? Nimrod Shapira!
The day will include a special presentation by Giles Smith, along with an afternoon full of friendly competition, encouragement and support during a Sprint Challenge.
