Independence Township Senior Community Center hosted a Veterans Luncheon for local vets at American Legion Post 63 on Ortonville Road, Nov. 13.
Veterans and family and friends enjoyed a pork tenderloin lunch, sponsored by Clarkston Mason’s Cedar Lodge #60 and served by Clarkston Junior High School students.

More than 125 veterans and guests filled the American Legion Post 63 hall on M-15 for a Veterans Luncheon in honor of Veterans Day, Nov. 14.
Hosted by Independence Township Senior Adult Activity Center with service by Clarkston Junior High ninth grade advanced history students, they enjoyed a lunch of pork tenderloin, roasted red potatoes, and vegetable medley.
Speaker Julie Nemeth of Habitat Clarkston provided an update of the non-profit group’s home-building project for a veteran in Springfield Township.
Dozens of veterans ranging from World War II to the ongoing war in Afghanistan enjoyed lunch courtesy of Independence Township Senior Adult Activity Center, Nov. 12 at the American Legion Hall Post 63.
Keith and Zach Natrass brought their restored M-3 reconnaissance vehicle, Greg Smithson and other members of Pontiac Miniature Aircraft Club displayed radio controlled fighter planes, and veterans brought photos and other memorabilia.
Independence Township Senior Adult Activity Center hosts a Veterans Day Lunch, honoring those who have served our country during war or peace, 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 12, at American Legion Post 63, 8047 Ortonville Road.
The lunch is free for veterans; $5 for spouses and family.
