The Lake Orion girls varsity bowling team took on the Oxford Wildcats on Friday night ending with a tie for their final OAA match of the season.
The Dragons are co-champions of the OAA Red Division with Oxford.
Standout performances by the Dragons go to Lexi Babicz with a 443 series bowling a 223 and a 220. Hanna Mix had a 394 series bowling a 179 and a 215. Jessica Cannon had a 377 series bowling a 183 and a 194. Tryna Gladstone contributed a 185 in game one to beat out her opponent, and Madison Ellington had a 169 also in game one to beat her challenger.
The Dragons OAA 2015-16 season has ended with 8 wins and 2 ties.
The girls then competed in the OAA post season tournament Saturday at Astro Lanes in Madison Heights.
The Dragons finished 13 baker games and qualified second with 2,526 points with a total of eight out of 11 teams qualifying. Next up was best two out of three Baker games. The first team they faced was Ferndale, and the Dragons beat them in two, with scores of 179 to 125 and 178 to 125.
The second team the Dragons faced was Oxford. The Dragons took them in two with a close match of 176 to 172 and 205 to 190.
Their final opponent was Farmington Hills Harrison. The Dragons played hard, but Farmington Harrison took home the first place trophy.
On Sunday, the OAA division awards were announced, and the Dragon varsity team was awarded the 2015-16 Sportsmanship Award for the OAA Red Division.
Tryna Gladsone ranked second for a high hame of 267. She ranked first in high series with a 511 and second in first team All-OAA for an average of 201.
Lexi Babicz ranked fifth for a high series of 444 and she ranked fourth in first team All-OAA with an average of 189.
Hannah Mix was ranked fifth in the first team All-OAA with an average of 186.
Jessica Cannon ranked fourth in the second team All-OAA with an average of 177.
