The Addison Township Board of Trustees voted unanimously at the September 4 regular meeting to deny the rezoning request of Pat and Glen Eisenhardt.
The Eisenhardts were asking to have their 53.55-acre parcel, located on the southwest corner of Army and Rochester roads, rezoned from Suburban Farm (2-acre) to R-1 Residential (1-acre).
The board had already received a recommendation for denial from the township planning commission. No public comments were made during the public hearing.
Trustee Ed Brakefield motioned and trustee Sandra Campbell seconded to deny the rezoning on the following grounds: the rezoning is untimely and therefore inconsistent for the future land use density of the master plan, the potential uses in the zoning are not compatible with surrounding land uses, the applicant has not demonstrated that a reasonable return on investment is not possible with the current zoning, and there has not been a demonstrated need for additional land in the requested zoning. Also referenced in the motion was section 13.01 of the zoning ordinance on lake lots.
