The Oakland County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call of identification fraud on Fox Hollow Court on Sept. 23.
According to an OCSD report, a 45-year-old man said his 18-year-old son had used his identity to obtain a cell phone. His son was recently released into his custody after serving time in a home for assault and truancy, and had been living at his house. The father went into the boy’s room and found a cell phone bill in his name for $1,439 worth of calls.
The man also found notes explaining how his son was going to “rip him off” with a cell phone and credit cards. He contacted the cell phone company and was told an Internet application had been filled out with his personal information.
The man removed the boy from his home and wasn’t sure where he was currently living.
