Groveland Twp.– Pet Supplies “Plus” has a new home in the area.

The Ortonville franchise opened Sept. 9 in their new location at 260 N. Ortonville Road (in Bueche’s Plaza).

“We wanted a newer, nicer building,” said Peter Benedict, store team leader. “It’s smaller, but it feels bigger. It’s more open and accessible and more up to date. We didn’t need all the room that we had. We are focusing on the products our customers need.”

Still fully stocked in the 4,500 square-foot facility are extensive lines of dog and cat food, cat litter, toys, and all the accessories you need for your pets. The store no longer sells live animals, with the exception of feeder fish and crickets.

PSP has added a do-it-yourself grooming salon, with two tubs in the self-serve dog wash.

“We can accommodate large and small dogs, there is a hose and we supply everything— shampoo and conditioner,” explained Benedict. “We have a strong blow dryer.”

Walk-ins only and customers can pay $10 for 30 minutes, or purchase a dirty dog discount card for $25 and get five washes.

The store still hosts a low-cost vaccination clinic every other Sunday and Devoted Friends Animal Society brings pets for adoption from 1-4 p.m. every Saturday.

“Look for a grand opening coming soon,” said Benedict. “We are your favorite neighborhood pet store. Come see us in our new, brighter, cleaner location.”
