Stewart Cox, owner of Addison Foods in Leonard, is a true good samaritan and real neighbor.
Upon learning the icy road was making it difficult for fire trucks to get through to the burning Rivest family home (see story page 1) on Haven Rd, Cox donated numerous bags of salt, so emergency personnel didn’t have to wait for road commission trucks.
“He without hesitation started loading bags of salt in the back of my Blazer,” according to Addison substation commander Oakland County Sheriff’s Sgt. Pete Burkett.
Mr. Cox’ act exemplifies the true spirit of community and cooperation. Hats off to you, sir.
