A three year process came to an end Jan. 20.
Orion Township trustees agreed to all the paperwork necessary to accept property in the Baldwin/Indianwood area that will be the site of the fourth fire station in the township.
Westbury Properties, developer of Hills of Indianwood, is donating the property. Orion Township Supervisor Jerry Dywasuk expects ground to be broken this year for the new building.
Westbury Properties has promised to improve the site by June 4 by removing topsoil, installing erosion controls, excavating and rough shaping of a proposed detention basin, installing a storm outlet structure, rip rap and related storm sewer for the detention basin and doing the rough grading.
By Aug. 1, the company will have completed the acceleration and deceleration paving and related storm sewer on the east side of Baldwin and will have installed a water main, hydrant and eight inch lead for the fire station.
