Good news is coming out of Lake Orion School District’s financial office.
Oakland County recently announced the county’s school districts will be receiving more special education funds.
According to financial director Jillynn Keppler, Lake Orion is expected to get $345,000 in March. The extra money is due to more accurate information about how much property taxes were taken in by the county.
Keppler said this is sustainable funding, not a one time payout. The majority of the money will be used to lessen the financial burden of next year’s budget.
