Oxford Bank offers MI quarter sets

Oxford Bank announced Feb. 20 it’s selling Michigan State Quarter collector’s sets for $3.50 each (tax included), with all the proceeds to benefit HAVEN.
Each set includes two, uncirculated Michigan Quarters – one from each of the United States Mints located in Denver and Philadelphia – enclosed in a tri-fold display card that includes historical and factual information about the state.
The Michigan State Quater features a topographic map of the state surrounded by all five of the Great Lakes. The theme of the quarter is “Great Lakes State.”
The state quarters were introduced by the U.S. Mint in 1999 with citizens of each state submitting designs then voting on the final choice.
Every year through 2008, five quarters will be released in the same sequence in which the states were admitted to the Union.
The Michigan State Quarter is the first state quarter to be released for 2004. Florida, Texas, Iowa and Wisconsin will follow.
The quarter sets will be available at all six Oxford Bank branches (Oxford, Lake Orion, Clarkston, Ortonville, Oakland Township and Dryden) while supplies last.
All the proceeds from the sales will benefit HAVEN, an organization dedicated to eleminating domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse through treatment and prevention services throughout Oakland County.
For more than 29 years HAVEN has been serving local communities with program sites in Pontiac, Southfield, Farmington and Royal Oak.
Should the bank run out of the quarter sets, don’t panic.
“If the demand stays high, we can always order more,” said Marketing Director Tony Lasher. “We want to raise as much money as possible for HAVEN.”
