North Oakland Post 335 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars donated a US flag and stand to Saint Augustine’s House in Oxford for display in its new chapel. The presentation was made June 27 by Ronald Deachin (right), current quartermaster and past post charter commander. He started the North Oakland VFW Post in 1984. Fr. Thomas McElwey, who was a chaplain in the US Navy, accepted the flag on behalf of the monastery.
