The 2013 CreekFest Committee is seeking individuals to participate in the first annual Amos Orton look-alike contest. Contestants need to grow a natural beard and resemble Amos Orton, who founded Ortonville in 1848. On June 29 a reward will be given to the winner during the opening ceremonies behind the Old Mill. The contest is being sponsored by the Ortonville Community Historical Society.
Celebrating its tenth anniversary, CreekFest will run for two days June 29 and 30. This year the Ortonville event will include a carnival sponsored by the Lions Club, along with the Independence Day fireworks sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce.
