Back-to-back Super Bowl wins

There’s a dynasty in the making as the Oxford Jr. Wildcats Freshman Gold team won the Northern Youth Football League (NYFL) Super Bowl Saturday at Wildcat stadium.
The Jr. Cats beat Brandon in a tight 13-12 game, making it the first NYFL team to win back-to-back Super Bowl championships.
‘I couldn’t be more proud of these kids,? said Coach Aaron Carpenter. ‘They worked hard each and every weekend. This was a total team effort. All 25 kids contributed in this great and perfect season.?
Oxford was 10-0 going into the big game while Brandon was 9-1. These teams were the top two seeds for the league.
Marco Vackaro scored both of Oxford’s touchdowns, while John Asciutto scored the winning extra point. Both are returners from last year’s championship season as was Gavin Walters, Alec Brown, Gavin Green, Brady Carpenter and Kevin Judge.
The Freshman Gold team’s offense racked up 303 points this season, while the defense only allowed 76 points.
The team has compiled an impressive two-year record of 19-2.
