Bank employees dress down, donate $1,700 to charities

Last week, Oxford Bank employees donated a total of $1,700 to two very deserving local charities.
Using money raised through the bank’s ‘Dress Down for Charity? program, the 173 employees voted to donate $850 to HAVEN and $850 to Habitat for Humanity of Oakland County.
The ‘Dress Down? program allows bank employees the opportunity to donate at least $1 to chairty in exchange for dressing in casual attire on the fourth Friday of each month. The $1,700 raised represents money donated during the 2005 fiscal year.
HAVEN strives to eliminate domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse through treatment and protection services across Oakland County and surrounding communities.
A non-profit organization, HAVEN has been serving local communities for more than 31 years with program sites in Pontiac, Southfield, Famington, Royal Oak and Bloomfield Hills.
Habitat for Humanity of Oakland County is a non-profit, registered affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. It seeks to eliminate poverty and homelessness and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action.
Since 1994, Habitat for Humanity of Oakland County has built 61 homes in Oakland County, housing approximately 220 individuals.
