Benefit for police K9s and homeless dogs

Orion Healthy Pet is hosting a benefit to raise funds for the Oakland County K9 Unit and Great Dane Rescue of Michigan.
The event is Saturday, April 2, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at their store, 1472 S. Lapeer Rd. Proceeds of the fundraiser go to support both organizations.
The family-friendly event will be filled with a variety of activities for pet owners and animal lovers alike. Guests can enjoy free food from Big Dog BBQ while strolling aisles of quality pet products, watching the K9 Unit demonstration, visiting vendor booths, or learn how to make their own pet food. Owners can arrange for their pet to have a reading with pet psychic Laura or their professional pet portraits taken by Mark Kelly Photography. There will be a raffle and prizes, with all proceeds going to Oakland County K9 Unit and Great Dane Rescue.
‘We’re looking forward to having some fun while hosting this fundraiser for two great organizations,? said Tom Peters, owner of Orion Healthy Pet and BirkDale Medicinals. ‘Orion Healthy Pet is not just a store, but a resource for the community. Animals play such a role in the safety and quality of our lives and we want to celebrate and raise awareness to those local organizations that are dedicated to promoting the well-being of these amazing creatures.?
