BGYA’Adopt a Camper?:creating memories for children

Do you remember all the fun times of summer camp when you were growing up?
Swimming, fishing, campfires, roasting marshmallows, athletic events, crafts, and sing-alongs. Do they bring back any happy memories for you? Brandon/Groveland Youth Assistance (BGYA) is hoping to create these same memories for children in our community. And with the state of the economy, we are asking for your help in sending some kids to camp that may not have the opportunity otherwise.
BGYA has been helping to make summer camp available for at-risk and needy youth from our area for 30 years, but due to decreased financial support, we are again asking for your help to make this a reality. In Michigan’s current economy, many families are worried about foreclosure, paying their bills or providing basic needs, and the thought of sending a child to camp does not fit into their financial equation.
BGYA realizes you are facing the same financial constraints due to the economy, but we ask you to please support our children either by making a donation or becoming a full sponsor through the ‘Adopt a Camper? program. The fee to send one child to Crossroads Youth Camp in Oxford is $250, and to sponsor a child’s trip to Camp Skyline near Metamora is $250. Fifteen spots have been reserved by BGYA at each camp for this summer.
We look forward to working with you to provide a positive camp experience for youth in our area. BGYA is a program committed to providing youth with assistance in skill-building, free counseling, educational programs, prevention and support.
