Goodrich -Oct. 10 marked the one-year anniversary of Big Jake’s Pizza & Shakes, the downtown Goodrich ice cream place with the out-of-this-world three-minute pizza oven.
Owner Todd Mann, who named the restaurant after his young son, treated customers to free balloons, T-shirts, and temporary tattoos to help celebrate the occasion. ‘We’re happy with the early success we’ve had so far,? said Mann, who said Big Jake’s will continue to expand its menu.
The biggest request this year was for ice cream flavors that appeal to the young set, such as Superman, Peanut Butter Moose Tracks, and Peach Razmatazz. The restaurant switched to serving Stroh’s Old Fashioned ice cream to accommodate customers? requests, Mann said.
Big Jake’s is located at 10230 Hegel Road in downtown Goodrich.
