Bike rider was intoxicated

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Department responded to the call of a man riding his bicycle all over Lapeer Road on May 25.
According to an OCSD report, deputies were dispatched to the area of Lapeer and Clarkston Roads, regarding an elderly man, later identified as a 52-year-old Vernita man, riding a bicycle in the roadway on Lapeer, and falling down.
Deputies found the man weaving across all lanes going south on Lapeer, causing traffic to avoid him. Deputies talked to the man and said he was ‘visibly intoxicated.? The man was too intoxicated to give his name, was wet from falling down in the road and unable to maintain his balance.
The man agreed to admit himself to detoxification and was transferred to POH via ambulance, after he was cited for disorderly conduct.
