Blanche Sims Elementary School is hosting its first Fun Run for its students and their families on Sept. 26. This will be its primary all-school FUNraiser, organized by the PTO.
Students will walk or run laps for a 15 minute time frame during school hours. Before the run, they will seek pledges to raise money for this event, which will all be used to finance educational enhancements such as field trips, assemblies, etc.
Small prizes and treats will be awarded to students who reach certain goals. The class which turns in the most pledged money will be awarded a trophy called “The Fun Run Cup,” which they can display throughout the entire school year.
To support Blanche Sims, some business have made donations towards the events. So far, these businesses include Meijer in Oxford, Costco of Auburn Hills, Kroger of Lake Orion, Target of Waterford, Community Plus Savings Bank of Lake Orion and National Print of Oxford.
Students, their families and Blanche Sims staff are extending an invitation to everyone in the community who would like to watch and cheer the students on and/or make a donation to support Blanche Sims.
You can make a donation through a Blanche Sims student or contact Denise Wolff at 248-814-7180.Schools
