Boy threatens juveniles with a sword

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call of juveniles fighting on Scenic Court in the Indian Lake Village complex on Lapeer Road on June 19.
According to an OCSD report, a witness said he saw five kids calling each other names, and one of the kids pulled a 16-inch knife.
He said the boy told the others he would cut someone. Another boy took the knife away from him and the boy went and got a “plastic gun.” The witness called police because he thought the gun was real.
The other boys told the OCSD that the boy who was fighting with them had left and come back with a “Japanese sword.” They wrestled it away from him, and the boy pulled a pocket knife and said he was going to throw it at one of the other boys. They talked him into putting it down.
The OCSD confiscated all the weapons and took the boy, a 13-year-old Sunrise Circle resident, into custody.
