Brandon boys runners finish seventh at regionals

Brandon’s boys cross country team’s season came to an end at the Oct. 30 Division 2 regional meet at Marysville.
Under cool, windy and wet conditions at Goodells County Park, the Blackhawks finished seventh out of 17 teams at the meet with a score of 198.
The top three teams in each regional meet advance to the Nov. 6 state meet at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn. Flint Powers won the meet with 50 points, while St. Clair finished second (71) and Fenton third (95).
Senior Brad Lawrence was the Blackhawks? leading runner, finishing 25th overall (17:50). Senior Chris Holton was next, placing 36th (18:13), while sophomore Steve Sanday was right behind at 37th (18:13).
Other Brandon competitors at the meet were sophomore Adam George (43rd, 18:20), sophomore Eric Edhe (57th, 19:03), sophomore Alan McLellan (59th, 19:06), and junior Dylan Kent (98th, 22:09).
